WELCOME

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:3)

The members of the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church welcome you!  We open our hearts to you, and pray that you will be blessed by being with us as we attempt to worship.  Our sincere desire is that God will be praised and that all that is done here is done to His honor and glory.

Let us continue to pray as we meet to worship our Heavenly Father, to rejoice in the blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to learn more of Him through the Holy Spirit.  May we have ‘ears to hear’ and may our hearts and minds be strengthened to obey Him.

In Him whom we serve,
The Pastor and Congregation of the Dawson Springs Primitive Baptist Church

Belief in a Mighty God

Our God is eternal, without beginning or end.  He is almighty and none can stand in His way.  He has all knowledge and wisdom; thus, never confused or bewildered.  He is perfect in all His ways.  Our God is love.  Our God is the God of salvation and providence.

The true and living God created His world and even now rules His creation.  This God has eternal plans and purposes, and brings His will to pass.   We proclaim a magnified and exalted view of God.  Many describe God as less than able:  a weak God who tries and fails or who desires and is incapable of achieving.  Our God accomplishes His will and fulfills the entirety of His plans.

This, the God of the Bible, is the center of our worship.  We strive to praise and glorify Him and Him alone.  For man is nothing, and God is all in all.

For I am God, and there is none else; I am God and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure (Isaiah 46:9-10)

Belief in the Holy Bible

The Bible is God’s message to His people.  It is God’s word.  Thus, it is true and perfect.  The scriptures are complete and sufficient.  There is no improving the Bible by adding to it, or taking from it, or amending it.

The Bible is God’s message about good and evil, right and wrong, life and death, God and man, salvation and sin, and many other important issues.  The word of God contains all we need to know.  It is a thorough answer to our questions and problems; a guide for all facets of our lives.

The Bible is the final authority for Christian belief and behavior.  We are committed to the teachings and message of the Bible.  We emphasize the truth, the completeness, and the perfection of God’s word.  God’s word and wisdom far exceed any wisdom and advice from the world.

All scripture is given by the inspiration of God,…that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

A Different Kind of Church

Do your thoughts ever return to the ‘good old days’?  Does the fast paced lifestyle of today’s world overwhelm you?  Do you need a place of escape from the world?

Perhaps, there is an answer.  We at this church strive to cling to the old ways, the Bible ways.  We admit that our church is not perfect and the people who worship here are not perfect.  But, we feel that we have something very special.  Our method of worship is very simple and unadorned.  It is not fancy or decorated with the frills of this world.  Our desire is to center our attention on God and His Bible taught ways and not on man and his ideas.  We strive to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone.  Thus, you will not find many accessories to our worship.  Our worship simply consists of singing, prayer and preaching.  Families worship together as described in scripture.

Our goal is to have a church based only on the Bible and to worship God in the same uncomplicated fashion as is described in scripture.  If you are searching for the Bible paths, we invite you to come worship with us.
